Raeanna Eastwood
I was born into a musical family, so some of my earliest memories are of my mom singing, and my Dad taking me to the ballet, and watching Baby Einstein.
When I was five years old, I began taking piano lessons. I absolutely loved them. I joined the junior choir at my church when I was around eight, and I continued singing with them until I was 12. I became the assistant director of the choir for two years.
At age 10, I had made such good progress in piano that my parents decided to reward me with more music lessons - this time in an instrument of my choice. I picked the violin. Throughout high school, I completed grades 1-10 RCM, competed in multiple competitions, and played in my church weekly.
I grew to love music more and more throughout high school, eventually deciding that studying music education in university was the right path to pursue. In university, I played violin in the Chamber Orchestra and symphony, and sang in the Chamber Choir. I also accompanied the Chamber Singers and many other performance majors on campus.
I taught music in an elementary school for two years, and loved every minute of it. Teaching private lessons has been a highlight, as I enjoy making personal connections through music.
I am so thankful for all the experiences I have had and all the friends I have made because of music, and I look forward to what the future holds.
